I am about tochang the Brakes on my 2005 Ford F-150 STX extended cab 4x4. As it seems to me, every time I get a new Vehicle, there is a need to buy a new, exotic, and outrageously expensive socket to remove the calipers. I hope, more than likely pointlessly, that a T-type socket will get the job done (T-55?). But, as ive stated, my luck with caliper bolts is rediculously BAD! I've owned 6 different make and model cars/trucks and have a myriad of sockets that do not do anything but collect dust. SO, before I even pull the wheel of and need to run to the store to buy a new socket. WHAT TYPE of socket do I need for this puppy?

Please say someone can tell me / and Thanks either way!

You would slap me if you were here. They used different types. Some torx, allan wrench, some use standard metric sockets.

Sorry, but you need to remove the wheel to check.

If you run into any trouble, let me know.

Well, I did end up pulling the wheels off and to my shock and utter awe. The rears where 12 mm and the fronts were ten mm! And even more shockingly.I had both! AT THE SAME TIME! LOL.
Just for future reference. To any and all who may wish to know, or your just curious. 12 mm sockets on the rear calipers and 10 mm socket for the front! (NOTE: this is 2005 early model F-150 STX ext. Cab 4x4 with tow/haul package(beefed up brakes!))
