Stuck on defrost

Oh, man, this thread is hitting very close to home now, at least for me! Same vehicle (2001 F150) too. I belive I do have an issue with vacuum/pressure and I can feel it in my brakes. If I run with the heater off, pressure is much better, as is the brake sensitivity.

Use brake cleaner to check your vacuum sys. Spray your hoses when you find the problem you will notice the idle change. This will help you find the leak easyier. The leak sucks the cleaner in and makes finding it a lot easyier. Start under the hood the leak is allmost allways there.

In your response on February 22, 2010 you stated you found the reservoir, where specifically was it. A description or picture would be very helpful. My grandson just purchased an '01 and his does the same when under heavy acceleration. Thanks for any help.

The Two Values in the Photo are for the 4X4 front axle actuator. They are Vacuum Solenoid's. One controls the vehicle in 2WD the other for 4WD. The black line that is not connected to anything is actually a vent line from the front Axle. This line is not connected as it is just a vent.

It sounds like the heater core is plugged, lets remove the hoses to flush the core using a garden hose. Here is a guide that can help as well.
