Now that the weather is getting cold I noticed that when I start my truck I'm getting a knocking sound from the engine. It sounds to loud to be a valve tap.

Try a lower viscosity oil, like 5/30, this should help with cold start ups. Also I found that a exhasut manifold leak is misinterpretated for a engine knock and goes away when warm because the manifold expands when warm so doulble check for a exhaust leak

5/20 weight oil. If you go to a quickie oil change place they might be installing 10/40 or 10/30

I change my own oil and I already use 5W30 but I will check for an exhaust manifold leak. Thanks
