Electrical problem
1997 Ford F150 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 150000 miles

As soon as I put the keys in the ignition, whether the door is open or not, the door chimes start ringing. Can't get them to stop. They will randomly stop on their own after 1 - 30 mins, esp if car has been left in bright sunlight or warm day.

decoupling wiring underneath dash disables windshield wipers and fan.

o and while we're at it, just replaced thermostat but not getting heat or air conditioning.

help!

Hi conleymascc,

Thank you for the donation.

Check the driver door switch. If the switch is not being closed correctly or stuck in the open position, it would cause the chimes to ring when the key is inserted.

Regarding heater and AC, is it the blower not working or the air is neither hot nor cold? Did you check if the compressor is engaging?
