1995 Ford F-150 oil pressure

Pressure gauge has been erratic and has then dropped completely.I pulled off the road and towed it home. Is this a bad oil pump and or something else

Since its been erratic could be a bad sensor or wiring harness. What I would do first before tearing down the engine to check the pump use a oil pressure tester and check the oil pressure.

Should be at least 10psi for each 1,000 rpm per engine or 1psi per 100 rpm.
