1993 Ford F-150 Temperature Guage

When driving on the Hi ways, my temperature guage reads hot, but the truck is not running hot. When driving around in the city or the truck is setting idle, the temperature guage reads normal. The truck has a new raidator, termostat, hoses, water pump and water sensor unit.

Ok so tell me which temp unit did you replace? Did you replace the two term or single term unit? Get back to me on that so we can figure out what it going on here.

The single temperature guage sending unit was replaced.

Ok so it was the one on the left side of the manifold good. Now if you would or can unplug the sending unit and then turn the key on and gound it for a moment what does the guage do?
