2003 Ford Explorer lights

Today my husband noticed the door light on, he checked all the doors and still the light stayed on. We have gone back and forth checking and closing all the doors and the light will not turn off. Can someone please help us with this problem.

Are the interior lights or door ajar reminder on as well?

Ok. This indicates that one of your door ajar switches in the door panels is faulty. There is a door ajar switch in each door as well as the rear gate. Sometimes lubricating the switch with WD40 will get it temporarily working again so I suggest lubricating each switch ( One at a time) to see if it temporarily solves thie problem. This way you can find which switch is faulty.
