The passenger right rear window regulator has failed. The cable was severely gnarled up and appeared not to be exiting the motor in the correct place. I removed the motor and cable assembly and would like detailed instructions (as much as possible) on how to fit a new regulator (purchased from my local Ford dealer). Photographs and individual instructions would be most helpful. Many thanks in advance.

Thanks for the response. However, your response suggests you believe I have a 'scissors' type regulator rather than the one I found when I took the panel off the door. My regulator is a slightly curved piece of metal with two wheels on it (one at each end to guide the cable) and a motor attached. I managed to extract the old motor and mashed up cable but now see that the window is glued to a piece of metal which itself seems to have a pin attaching it to a metal plate that forms part of a sliding attachment to the curved metal assembly. The only solution I can see is to drill out the pin to remove the metal assembly from the window and the re-attach the new regulator via a small bolt and locking nut through the hole where the pin used to reside. Is this a viable repair solution? Any 'gotcha's' with this approach?

Sorry, but I cant find any pics of how to put it back in. If you bolt the motor to it and lay it on the ground in front of the door, you should be able to see where the bolts/rivets go in, so you will know which side of teh reg faces towards the interior of the car. Was the reg glued to the window or riveted. Once you see how it should go into the door, fold it in half and slide it through the access hole, unfold it. Sometimes if possible it is easier to use a small nut/bolt to hold it in the door while you rivet it back in
