2001 Ford Explorer Loud Noise

I was driving my wifes eddie bauer explorer and while I was driving it I noticed a loud noise. It is loud but the car is still running fine. It is not cutting off and there is no loss of power. It has 126000 miles and is 2001. Any ideas on what it might be? Thanks

Your going to have to be a little more specific on the sound it is making. Also when does it occur? Bumpy roads? Turning? Going straight? Accelerating? Decelerating? Warm, cold?
