Let me first start off by saying I have had a problem for over a year now with my check engine light coming on and it always says there is a problem with the EGR Valve, but I have replaced the whole thing. Anyway to my more current problem. When I start the truck it is fine. One it gets warmed up to the normal running temp, when I stop at a red light or whatever, the idle drops below 500 and it starts trying to die on me. It also does it while in park as long as the engine is warm. Everyone I have taken it to says they can't find anything wrong that would cause it to do this. I lvoe my truck and don't want to get rid of it, but I am getting pretty upset with it. PLEASE HELP!!

Check the idle air control valve, throttle position sensor, PCV valve and recheck the EGR again.

I have put a new IAC valve, and a new throttle position sensor on. What is the PCV valve? Oh, also I have fixed the low rpm when idling problem, but it still have a bad miss when idling, and the truck keeps throwing the EGR valve code. Bu checking the EGR valve again, since it is new what am I looking for?

When the last time you gave it a tune up. Open up the EGR valve and look for carboned-up passages-
