what is a code 37, as indicated by the flashes of the dashboard air bag/seat belt warning light on a 2001 explorer sport

37 is "passenger seat side airbag circuit" prob, (4 different possibilities-the dealer's scan tool would be more specific); either "short to power", "short to ground", ohms high or ohms low....I'd first see if you even HAVE side air bags. If you don't have an airbag mounted in the seat-back - there's a yellow plug under the seat that's not hooked up to anything. There's also a yellow plug under there that IS hooked to something in the system-the "pre-tensioner"-which is an explosive device in the seat belt receptacle. I think Ford had a "TSB" or "SSM"(special service message") for this problem but I can't remember what the fix was...it may have been a "re-programming" of the RCM (restraints control module), which only the dealer's computer can do.
