it will not go in park. you have to start it in nurtrol

Sounds like a problem with the shift lock mechanism.Theer is a solenoid at the bottom of the steering column on the top, that is supposed to hold it in park until you press the brake pedal. It sounds like this is locking it out of park instead of in park.You will ahev to remove the lower dash panels and locate the solenoid to verify it is the problem
