The engine service light is on. I scaned with a pocket scan and the reading came up with Both bank 1 and bank 2 running lean. I replaced the O2 sensors on both and the light is still on with the same reading on the scaner. Now I need to know which way to go. I've been told vac. Leak or intake leak to find spray with carb cleaner nothing found. What else can I do

First things first. Recheck and make sure the harness for the o2 sensors are good. From there check very carefully again for the vaccum leaks. On lines and gaskets and even the air cleaner hoses.

If nothing there take the MAF sensor and clean it with qd contact cleaner. And if you have a map sensor check that.

I failed inspection because of the same problem. I changed the air filter and cleaned the MAF sensor with non-chlorinated brake cleaner. After that we cleared all of the codes to make the engine light go out. So far I have driven 200 miles and the engine light has not come on! This repair cost me $15! Definately try this! It worked for me and I also have a 2000 ford explorer 6cyl 4wd.
