my car engine light came on and the engine wont keep idle when started
the engine light code is massive air flow sensor
if I change this will it keep my idle going when I start

The code is telling you there is a fault with the MAF (mass airflow sensor). Cleaning/changeing the sensor should rectify the fault?.

So what you are saying is clean and the idle will go back to normal

Go to a good autoparts store (autozone etc.) Ask them for a recomended cleaner. When you have completed the repair. Go back to autozone etc. Ask them to turn the light off for you !
