My fuel line is leaking at the point where the line from the tank meets with a connector and then continues on with a braided line to the engine block. Can I just replace the connector or should I replace the whole line

RISK OF FIRE !

I would do what ever it take to stop the leak
if the line is so so replace it

Risk of fire.

Keep cigarettes, sparks, open flame, and other
sources of ignition away from vehicle.

Gasoline, methanol, and oxygenated fuels are toxic
and flammable and must be handled appropriately
