Hi There

My son recently flushed my husbands keys down the toliet and unfortunitly we can't find the spares.
we still have the door keys but we don't have the money for a new ignition or to call a locksmith out. to you have any ideas??

Try contacting a Ford dealer with the VIN number as see if they can do anything. Originally, there was a code on the key's cut out. THat would enable a dealer to get a duplicate. However, unless you wrote the number down from the cut out in the owner's manual or other place, the only hope is that the dealer can get one from the vin.

Other than that, the tumbler needs replaced with a new key. If you don't have an airbag, you may be able to do it yourself. The part isn't too expensive.
