Do you have to remove the engine.
What would be a fair estimate (cost) for this repair.
Would a used part be ok?

As far as the cover, is that the only thing that is being replaced? Is there a hole in it?

The engine doesn't need removed, and yes a used one would be fine. For me to give you an idea of cost, I need to know if it is only the cover or are the timing chain and gears being replaced.

Let me know.

Hi Joe,

Thank you for your speedy and information.

Just the timming cover.

Corrosion or rusted out.

Very rusty water came pouring out.

Someone said the bolt's may not come out when removing the timing cover. Is that true?

Thanks. Tony. :O)

Okay, you lost me on this. Water shouldn't come out of the timing chain cover. Are you sure that is the part that is needed?

If you are, expect around 4 hours of labor and a used cover shouldn't be more than 20 dollars. You will need gaskets, so add aprox 30 dollars for them.

Please understand that the cost may be different based on where you live. Also, yes the bolts can break, but they shouldn't on the timing cover.

Let me know if you have other questions. Also, sorry it took so long to get back to you. I was out of town for a couple days.
