My drives a 2003 Expedition and after drove extremly low on fuel more times than one. A day ago she said that it it started stuttering and shut off while drive, but started right back. up. When i check it out she had put some gas in it but i seen that the oil was extremly low. The truck idles fine but then starts to stutter and rev back up suddenly then almosts turn off just to restart and do it somemore. right before it stall i can hear sound of air or puff's or somthing right before it turn off. what is it? last time had a simailar problem and it turn out to be a coil pack was bad.is this the case again or problem from running low on oil. the oil pressure was fine.

The engine has a oil level sensor and will shut down if the engine oil if extremely low, please add oil until full and recheck, please get back to me if that doesn't fix it.

I added some oil.....not to the max level, but problem is still there. I notice right before it stalls and re starts and stalls that it smokes alittle.appears to be blackish or dark blue. its night over where I'm stationed. could it be the injectors or coil packs?
