The speedomter needle on my 2000 Ford Escort, 131,000 miles will fll to zero and then go back up while driving. This does not happen all the time. Also my fuel gauge needle will drop E even though there is about 1/4 of tank left

Thanks

For your speedometer check to see if there is a cable going to the transmission then to the speed sensor if so it could be the speedometer in the cluster. If there is no cable it will be the speed sensor on the tranny. For the gas gauge you should have your level on the pump checked. The float could be your problem.
