I have a 1999 Ford Escort that has been running fine. Today I went to start it and when I turned the key in made a kind of snapping noise and would not start. There seems to be no power to the ignition. It doesn't make any noise at all. Also the power windows will not work. Any ideas?

Hello,

It almost sounds like a discharged or a bad battery.
Have you tried to jump start it?
If not, that should be the first step.

If you are able to jump start it and it runs normal, then you will have to replace the battery.

I have attached the battery replacement procedure below.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
