I have a 1995 Ford escort LX 1.9 liter engine with about 90000 miles. The problem begin several days ago when I noticed it was driving roughly so I had the oil changed and the spack plugs, two days after that it died on me at a stop light. It acted as if it wanted to start. A mechanic diagnosed it as the fuel pump and I had it replaced. It will now start but then dies again after a few minutes. The sensors and relay appear to be fine, what else could it be?

Thanks

A couple possibilites that I would first suspect, the Fuel pump was misdiagnosed or the fuel pump is bad. Even new ones can fail, there are some brands I would never use. These cars have a problem with the wiring that corrodes under the drive side rear seat floorboard and also at the sending unit. Talk to the shop that put the fuel pump in and ask them to check their work over.
