Blower motor

I have a 2003 Crown Vic and recently the blower motor quit working. I am not good at all with electronics, so where should I start? I have a gut feeling that a shop will charge me quite a bit more than necessary to fix this problem. So any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance

My (2003) blower motor worked fine then would only work on High, then nothing. I took it in and they replaced the resistor on the side of of the heater core box under the hood on the passenger side firewall. Works fine now, total cost of repair was $72.00. Not a bad deal since I had no idea what the cause was. Might be worth a shot hope this helps you.
