Vehicle is 2003 ford crown victoria 4.6 engine 90,000 miles altenator has been replaced twice with ford replacement altenator. Thought the first replacement altenator was deffective. When vehicle is cranked altenator doesn't charge. Voltage-amp meter shows only battery voltage. When accelerator is snapped open sharply, will start charging. Battery light comes on after engine accelerator is snapped open. :

Remove the ground from the battery and clean it shiny. Remove and clean the ground from the battery to the engine, the engine to the fire wall and from the battery to the frame.

Do the same with the positive side. Check the wire connector to the alternator, make sure it isn't burnt. They burn so often that you can buy them on a fix it rack at a parts store. Good luck
