1999 crown vic has a 406L and 185000 mile. The egr tube has 2 vacuum lines about halfway down the tube, what hooks to these 2 parts? And where do they go. I hear an exhaust leak from down there. The car idles rough and submerses while going down the road.

Those 2 hoses go to the DPFE sensor. If you have an exhaust leak, the tube is known to crack in one of the flexes on the tube. Look for any indication of sooty exhaust on the tube. That will be your exhaust leak. If the hoses are not hooked to anything, that also could be an exhaust noise.

Thanks for your help, I think the exhaust leak is the two hoses that come off the egr tube are missing, how or where they went I dont no, the car used to run great and give me 26 to28 mpg on the highway, now its about 13mpg, all of a sudden it had a rough idle and now loses power going down the road, thanks again, oh where do I find the dpfe sensor

It is located down behind the passenger side of the engine. It is about 3 inckes long, 1 1/2 inches high wirh a wiring connector goint to it. There ate 2 little nipples where the hoses connect to from the tube.
