I parked my car, used the e-brake and when I go back our to use it, the car will not start. When I let down the e-brake the car rolls back. What happened to my car?

Sounds like the shifter cable is broken, loose, or misadjusted. If the transmission is not in "park", the starter will not engage to start the engine. Try moving the shift lever to "reverse" or "neutral", then try to crank the engine. If that works, the best suspect is the casing for the cable is loose on one end and is moving instead of forcing the cable to move like it is supposed to. If the shift lever moves freely with no resistance, the cable is either broken or it is disconnected on one end.
