The vehicle runs descent until I stop and then try to go, very slowly to roll out. Sometimes when I'm at a stop it will cut off. I would like to know where speed sensor is located, oh yes, sometimes when driving I have to go to 1st gear then 2, 3 then drive. Thanks. Add images please.

Hi,

Anytime there is a power loss issue, the first thing I think of is a partially plugged catalytic converter. They can come apart internally and restrict airflow, causing power loss.

Take a look through this link and let me know if it mirrors what you experience:

Also, is the check engine light staying on while the engine is running? Let me know. Also, if it is and you haven't scanned it for codes, that is usually very helpful. Also, most parts stores will do it free of charge, so have it done and let me know what codes they retrieve.

Let me know.

Joe

Yes, engine light would be off then turn on and stay on now, I took it to auto parts store and it just had code for sensor. It was inspected in May 2023 and passed the exhaust test check. The light would come on at times then too but not as often. It didn’t come on during inspection.

Don’t know what the code was, I will take it to the auto parts store and recheck. All gauges are good, but the back end of the SUV smells of a lot of fuel.

Hi,

If you have a fuel leak, that can cause a power loss. Do you have anything under the vehicle that is wet or stained indicating a leak? The fuel line runs across the top of the fuel tank to the fuel filter. See pic below.

Let me know.
