Engine light came on and that's the code I got. Mass air flow sensor seems to be working including all wiring and around there. What I have noticed is the previous owner has taped up the pipe that's connected to the engine and air pump as the pipe is deteriorating a little. Could this be the reason for the code and the engine light? Thanks.

Hi Itspennywise,

This code is telling you that your fuel trim is not correct. The MAP could be causing your issue but if you have intake leaks or unmetered air coming into the engine it will cause this as well.

Even if this tape issue is not causing your issue, I would definitely correct it before you go any further. Not only should it be corrected on its own but it could cause this engine code as well so it just makes sense to fix it and retest.

Once this is repaired, let me know where you stand with the code and we can go from there. Thanks

Thanks for your reply. Got the tube replaced with a new hose and the engine code reset and it hasn't come back on at the moment so fingers crossed.

Awesome. Those codes normally set pretty quickly so the longer you go the more confident you should be. Thanks for the update. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with on this issue. Thanks
