I was driving and the car was low on oil so it shut down and locked on me. It had no power so I pulled to the side put oil started it but when I put it in drive it turned off. So now it is turns on but doesn't turn to start. It just clicks. I was told a sensor turned it off to protect it from blowing. So how do I unlock the engine to get it to start up?

Good morning.

There is no sensor for turning it off. It turned off on its own from lack of lubrication.

I am afraid to say the engine has failed from lack of oil. Oil needs to be checked everytime you fuel to prevent this exact issue.

Sounds like you need to replace the engine.
