I baught this on monday took up north on friday. It ran a little ruff so I baught a fuel filter form advance auto put it in on sunday, whent to head home and it died going across yard. I put new plugs, wires, air cleanner, fuel pump, ballest resitor. Carb looks new, but will only start if I hold butterfly closed and stalls after I let go. One time I got mad and hit dash and it started after that and ran till I shut off again. The wires on the back of the dash cluster are sodderd to the mother board because the pins broke off on the plug not sure if one might be lose and cuseing this I thought it might be somthing to do with fuel but after hitting dash I think mabe wireing. Please help strandedup north with 5 kids.

Well I would go to a wrecking or salvage yard first and get a plug with about 6 inches of wire and rewire one back in as it should be as this is not safe anyway. Then after that is corrected then see what it does. Now I don't have much for wiring diagrams on the older vehicles but can get it just takes a day or so. If you end up needing anything like that just be patient with me ok.
