1999 Dodge Truck downshifts

My truck started downshifting at about 50 mph, by its self and then won't shift again til about 73mph, but sometimes not even then.

Sounds like lock up torque convertor switch acting up or fliud leaking to covertor. Try driving truck in drive out of overdrive. Let me know

It does not have a overdrive location it's just D 2 1.

No overdrive? Well that's a new one on me. In any event there is nothing external that you could do.
Some problem with the valve body / shift solenoids for this to occur. Need to take it to a tranny shop for a dianosis pressurs test ect.
