The EGR valve should be located in the rear of the engine. Close to the firewall directly in the center while the canister will be located on a bracket towards the front of the fuel tnak.

EGR is little tricky to reach. Smaller hands help here. Canister should be easily accessed with vehicle raised.

Thanks for your help, I been getting a code p0440 it comes on for a few days then it would go out-the check engine light, I got a new gas cap from auto zone, im trying to figure if thats the issue and should I get a cap from the dealer instead, plus when I pulled the codes today I got the p0440---plus a P0441 Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow

Ew, nasty codes. Hard to find the cause of this trouble code. Could be anything from a leak in the EVAP emission system to a faulty EVAP purge solenoid or vacuum supply. Your doing the right thing by starting off with the smaller stuff though.

Its supposed to come on when starting, its called a bulb check. If it doesnt stay on while driving then there shouldn't be any faults.

Yes, the light should stay solid and yeah it will come back after driving it a certain amount of miles or after a certain number of ignition cycles.
