2001 Dodge Stratus noise when I start my vehicle

This winter I have noticed that when I start my car it keeps on seeming like it is trying to keep on starting. I start it and is continues like it is stuck, but then it stops. What in the world is going on? I didn't know if it is my starter or alternator, I don't lose power and my car has always started. Please help.

Sounds like your starter drive is hanging up. There is a spring inside your starter to return the gears after your car is started, it sounds like yours is bad. You will have to replace the starter.
