Noises problem
2000 Dodge Stratus 4 cyl Automatic 136000 miles

The car ran out of gas (gauge is broken) added gas to it. It acted like it didn't want to start. Mechanic said to prime it and use a "starting" spray. Did that and it acted like it wanted to start but wouldn't catch. Checked the oil and that was low, added 4 quarts and now it is making the loudest knocking sound! It sounds like something is loose. It is the first time it has done this. It was running fine before it ran out of gas. I don't know what to do now. And it still won't start. There was some white smoke that came out of the tail pipe when I was trying to start it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like an injector went bad. An injector is basically just a solenoid, but as any moving part, they need lubrication. An injector is lubricated from fuel. Without it, they can seize, and need to be replaced. Bring it to a garage, and explain to them you need an injector replaced, but uncertain which one. This way they dont give u a run around.
