Engine would not start so I banged on the gas tank to rattle the fuel pump. Ten it started so I figured I would change the fuel pump.I put a test light on the fuel pumps wiring harness while the tank and pump was out from under the truck. And the light would go on when I would turn the key. Then I would turn the key off and try it again and it wouldnt turn on. Anyway I installed the fuel pump and tank. Truck started right away. Went for a drive threw some fuel in the tank and it wouldnt re-start at the gas station.I think the fuel relay is ok. Any suggestions?

Try swapping fuel pump relay with another known good relay. If that doesnt work check the signal to the relay commanded by the pcm. If no command is going to relay when the trucks not running. It may need a pcm.
