1997 Dodge Ram V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 160k miles

I have a 97 Ram 4x4 with a 360 engine. The fuel pump wernt out. Can I replace the pump itself without replacing the entire assembly, or can I put an inline pump on it?

Thanks for the input. I was really wanting to know if the pump itself could be replaced without having to replace the whole assembly?

First off I want to thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. Someone had told me that I could change out just the pump, after I pulled the assembly, I saw that was incorrect information. Thanks again for the input.
