Truck was stolen and then recovered. Seems like they ran it out of fuel because Check Engine light was on and there were 2 gas cans in the bed. Plus there was gas spilled down the side of the truck like someone was filling it from a can.

Anyway, I filled it up after I got it back from the impound yard and have been driving fine for the last 5 days. Then tonight it just died while pulling into a parking lot. It will start for a few seconds and tries to respond to the accelorator. But it just dies.

Seems like it is starving for fuel. Could the fuel fliter have been clogged up because it was run dry?

Where is the fuel filter on a 96 Dodge Ram?

THANKS in advance for any help you can give me.

Fuel filter is part of the fuel pump module.

Fuel presure should be checked. Hopefully there wasn't anything beyond gasloline put in the tank.

Makes you want to strangle someone like that.
