k so i just bought this truck and the steering is very loose. is there a way that i can tighten the steerring up. the guy i bought it from said that all it takes is allen wreches and a socket set.

Wow, an allen wrench and a socket set. Does he even know what is loose? It sounds like he is refering to the steering gear, but it takes a little more than he mentioned. Plus, when you tighten them, they never seem to work properly.

Before we worry about the steering gear, have you checked the steering components such as the pitman arm, tie rods, ball joints...? Usually the gear will out last the vehicle.
