2005 Dodge Neon 60,000 miles

When driving car the engine light goes on and very soon after loses power. I will stop car, start it again and it runs fine. Soon after this occurs the engine light goes off. It seems to happen more often when the gas tank is close to full and then doesn't occur again until I fill it up again. (Though on a few occasions it's happened twice on one fill up.)

Codes I get are 0300 and 2300.

I've replaced plugs, wires, and coil. Checked fuel injectors and replaced O-rings on injectors.

Also have gas smell coming from engine compartment.

See: https://www.2carpros.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=435262#435262

Been told that it might be a clogged fuel filter/pump, but why then the gas smell from the engine compartment? (Pump and filter are in the tank in the back...)

I was just test driving my car, trying to get a better idea of what was wrong and it cut out again so my son and I pulled over and on a hunch, I pulled the #1 spark plug wire off - with the engine on - and, down the plug tube, I saw a small explosion down by the plug, and a couple more over the next few seconds.

Looks like I have gasoline escaping around my #1 Spark Plug.

Arrrgghhh.
