2003 Dodge Neon engine light on batery light on.

I have a 2003 Dodge Neon. The engine light is on along with the battery light. I also have a problem with the lights on the car in volving the windshield whippers. I turn the lights on and the windshield whippers come on. The right headlight is dim and the left is nice and bright?

I suspect this may be down to a bad earth somewhere. Possibly from battery to chassis. I have come across this before when it has brought these lights on together do they stay on after you remove the key from ignition?
