The other day, my wife and I were driving home from work, and suddenly the power steering went out on our 2001 Dodge Neon. When I got to my garage, I noticed that there was no longer a belt for power steering and/or AC. I went to NAPA, got the belt, and put it on twice last night; however, every time I start the car, the belt comes off. Any suggestions or help to get this fixed would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

This is a problem that I am currently having although I have found the main problem that is causing the belt to fall off. I also have a 2001 "plymouth" neon. Fortunately, my splash plate in my wheel well has been worn away enough that I can see my engine from the wheelwell and I reached up in and found that the tensioner to hold the belt tight and on the other pullies is bad. It seems to have been worn out from the inside. Now I dont have any solution to this because it is in a very tight spot and thts what I am trying to solve. Please email me if you know how to replace the "POWER STEERING BELT TENSIONER".

Thank you
