Transmission problem
2001 Dodge Intrepid 4 cyl Automatic 125330 miles

my check enjine light came on so I came back home and check the liquids. Every thing seems to be ok. But I noticed the speedodometer needle was jumping and maybe it was my imagination but I felt like it was harder to press on the accellerator? What could be the problem?

Hello, have the codes checked. Some of the national brand autostores will check codes for free. You could take the throttle-cable loose from the throttle-body, work the throttle valve by hand, see how it feels.

I brought it to Auto Zone and the only thing that shows up is the gas cap.I bought a new one. But my speedometer still. The guys said the speed sensor is bad. Was his guess causing problems with acceleration. Buecause it is having a hard time reading the speed. How hard is it to get to the sensors to change them

Hello, what was the code? Did they erase the code? Is the check engine light still on? Did the code come back?

The only code was a bad gas cap. We changed the speed sensor but the car is still doing the same thing. So that wasn't the problem. My husband said that the transmission is not shifting properly and the tacodometer keeps climbing and it won't shift properly. Any clue?
