try to started it would crank but not start?

i have a 2000 dodge intrepid.it had been having some trouble starting but nothing to serious.i would just have to crank it a little longer then i would like.then two weeks ago my engine light came on and my car started to die at red lights so i attempted to drive it home and it died only this time it will not start so i get my car towed and try to started it would crank but not start.then after serval failed attempts at starting it my starter goes out so i buy a new one along with a new battery and battery connecters after all this it cranks but will not start.then yester day i put the car in neutral and it started so i checked and it started again so i plan to take the car to the shop the next morning.i go out and try to start it the same way as the night before and just cranks with no start. if you have any help please let me know

Hello,

The issue you have described, it sounds like a faulty crankshaft position sensor.
The crankshaft sensor is located on the passengers side of the transmission housing, above the differential housing.
The bottom of the sensor sits above the drive plate.
Over time the sensor looses its calibration and will trigger no start/stall issue.

Typically with the crank sensor you will have intermittent starting issue and engine stall while driving. But as things progresses it get worse over time and it can end in no start.
