I went out to start my brother's '99 Intrepid and it started and then the engine immediatiately died. Now it won't start at all. The battery is strong but just won't start. If anyone has any suggestions as to what might be causing this problem and what needs to be done to fix it ... please let me know as soon as possible as I am visiting San Diego until Tues, Jan 8th and my brother is disabled. I don't want to leave him without wheels if I can. Thanks. Maureen Sturgis

First pull the number 1 spark plug and ground it to the engine and crank it, if you get bright blue sparks then you have spark, post back how the spark looks should be bright, blue and well defined.

next perform a fuel pressure test at the fuel rail. or a quicker way is to use starting fluid, if it fires right up its not getting fuel. then you should check your fuel pump and injectors.
