After reaching normal operating temperature if the engine is off (either turned off or dies) the car won't re-start. After setting for about an hour it will start and it starts easily. The starter spins the engine fine but it will not catch. No fuel or no fire I am not sure which. The "check engine" light is not on while driving or when trying to re-start. No codes to check.

If you can catch this the next time it acts up, check on the dark green / orange stripe wire to the coil pack, the injectors, or the alternator field wire. There should be 12 volts with a cheap digital voltmeter, or a test light should light up, but only for one second after turning the ignition switch from "off" to "run". That proves the Automatic Shutdown (ASD) relay is working. Next, that 12 volts must show up again during engine cranking. If it does not, suspect the camshaft position sensor or the crankshaft position sensor.

In the unlikely event the 12 volts is present during cranking, you will have to determine if you have spark or if the fuel pump is not running.
