Steering problem
1997 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive

i seem to have a bad clunking sound when i turn left could it be the driveaxle wornout also how can you tell if your lower control arms are worn what will the car do ? thks jim

Suspect CV axles
also need to jack front end and check the front end

but once the car is on jacks how do you know if the control arms are worn?

visually check
shake the tire side to side
place a bar under the tire one hand pull up on the bar and on hand on top of the tire
looking for unusual movements
Also check inner tie rod end bushing at rack side

do i need to remove outer tie rod end?in order to see if there"s play at the inner ones
