I have recently purchased a 1996 Intrepid ES rather cheap due to mechanical issues. Here is the one I need help with! The heater/blower motor turns on and off intermittently. At first I thought the problem was in the control panel because when I held in the off button with a lil extra force it would turn off so I took apart the dash and unplugged the control panel and lo and behold I started the car and the blower motor turned on without the control panel plugged in. Any ideas as to what is causing this to happen or a good place to begin the search?

Are you meaning the relay in the fuse panel or the relay and or resistor located in the area of the blower motor? Thanks for the quick reply also
