Did you check for codes? You can check for some codes by cycling the ignition switch, on--off, on--off, on. You don't crank it, just turn the key till dash lites come on. Watch the MIL, count flashes to get the codes.

Can you do some of the basic tests? When the problem occurs, have a helper crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs and injector pulse.

Can you check fuel pressure? You need a gage for that.
