2003 Dodge Durango starting problems

If you hear a single loud clunk from the starter every time you cycle the ignition switch, you have worn solenoid contacts in the starter. They cause an intermittent problem that will get worse over time. Replacement contacts are 20 bucks, but most people just replace the entire starter.
