Is there anything specifice to a durango that needs to be known about changing the alternator. My Durango while driving the gage for the battery or alternator will drop to no charge while going down the road. The car doesn't stop running, it still runs fine. When I turn the car off and back on the gage is fine. There is a constant squeeling from the belt when this happens too. Is this the alternator causing the problem?

I had a 02 durango that did the same thing, it was my tensioner pully not keeping the belt tight all the time, or maybe your belt is starting to ware out. Anyways the squeek sounds like your belt slipping to me
