Hello,

The check gauges light can come on due to low alternator output.
It is possible that at idle with low engine speed the alternator is unable to sufficiently change the battery. Which can lead to the check gauges warning.

A good first step would be to test the alternator output to the battery with the engine running.

If the output is low, then it could be a bad alternator that needs to be replaced.
